Normally, our PDF files can easily be opened or downloaded by a double click.
With some computers you might experience problems, because the plug-in function
of recent versions of Acrobat Reader do not always co-operate perfectly with
Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers.
You can easily solve this problem by switching off the plug-in function of
the Acrobat Reader. The Acrobat Reader is then opened in a separate window
instead of in the browser window. Proceed for this as follows:
1. Start the Acrobat Reader.
2. Open the window General Preferences via the menu points File and Preferences.
3. Switch off the Web Browser Integration setting (see figure):

4. Acknowledge by OK and terminate the Acrobat Reader.
5. Now start the browser again. At the following download the Acrobat Reader will be opened in a separate window.
The Internet Explorer (here V. 5.00) always opens the following window at the
first download after the configuration was changed. If you always want to open
the PDF files immediately instead of saving them first, you should select the
following configuration:
